A 24-year-old man was taken into custody Monday night after several vehicles in Southeast Portland were damaged by vandalism.

Cars and trucks parked near Southeast 18th Avenue and Belmont Street were the target of a vandal who broke windows and slashed tires.

Portland police say Robert Allen Bradford was taken into custody at about 9:40 p.m. Nov. 26 and charged with first-degree criminal mischief. He was lodged in the Multnomah County Jail.

A resident called police Monday night after hearing a car window break and seeing a man riding a bicycle west on Morrison Street away from the damage. The resident told police several tires had been slashed on nearby parked cars.

A few minutes later, officers found Bradford and took him into custody.

Officers left business cards on some of the damaged cars in the neighborhood. People who wake to find their vehicles damaged should file a police report through the non-emergency number, 503-823-3333, reference the case 12-103475.
