Purchase your Christmas tree from Boy Scouts

Boy Scout Troop 127 will hold its annual Christmas tree sale at George Rogers Park in Lake Oswego Nov. 24 through Dec. 21. Purchase your tree Monday through Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Boy Scout Troop 127 has been in continuous operation in Lake Oswego for 85 years. The Christmas tree sale has been a troop tradition for more than 60 years.

Attend Women of Worth luncheon

The Women of Worth luncheon will take place Dec. 13 from noon to 2 p.m. at Rolling Hills Community Church featuring speaker Carolyn Lu. The monthly luncheon is for women age 50 and older.

Lu will discuss “The Love of God.” The luncheon is open to the public. Tickets are $12 and $15 after Dec. 9. Rolling Hills Community Church is located at 3550 SW Borland Road in Tualatin.

Donate to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital

Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland is taking part in the launch of the a crowd-funded hospital gift catalog as part of a national campaign.

Individuals can purchase critically-needed medical equipment and medical care for children at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital through the website, givemiracles.org. Gifts range from $30 comfort toys to $970 pediatric wheelchairs to a $12 million hospital wing devoted to neonatal intensive care. For more information, call 415-277-6975.

Donate to Oregon Food Bank

Community members are encouraged to donate nonperishable food to the Oregon Food Bank. Donations will be accepted daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. now through Dec. 19 at Oswego Springs, 11552 SW Lesser Road in Portland. For more information, call 503-542-4747.

Take part in faith retreat

A Gift Ministry invites parishioners and community members to a one-day “Year of Faith” immersion retreat Jan. 13 featuring Mary Sharon Moore. The day will begin with Mass and blessing at 8:15 a.m. Coffee and muffins will be available. The first session will start at 9:15 a.m. and the retreat will end at 3:30 p.m. Lunch is included.

Moore is the founding director of Awakening Vocations, which helps to identify, shape and sustain the vocational culture of parishes. She is a writer, spiritual director, vocational consultant and speaker on the KVBM radio show “Awakening Vocations.”

Pre-registration is required. Registration deadline is Dec. 20. Fees are non-refundable unless the event is canceled. This event will be canceled if fewer than 50 people register.
