Sign up for Winter Nature Camp

The Friends of Tryon Creek will host the Winter Nature Day Camp program for children grades preschool through fourth grade. Camps will take place most weekdays Dec. 17 to Dec. 28 at Tryon Creek State Natural Area.

Campers can look forward to imaginative, interactive play and learning in the park with experienced counselors. Activities will focus on a variety of winter nature themes — including woodpeckers, the solstice, creek critters and animal hibernation.

Recycle your old electronics

Green Century, an R2 certified electronics recycling company, will host a free waste recycling event at Lake Oswego High School on Jan. 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Green Century will accept the following material free from charge: computers, laptops, monitors (CRT, LCD), printers, scanners, fax machines, copiers, ink cartridges, keyboards, mice, servers, routers, hubs, networking devices, televisions, cellphones, stereo equipment, cameras, telephones, washers, dryers, ovens, stoves, media players and miscellaneous office machines and electronics.
