FOOTBALL - Wildcats put up six TDs in the second half to beat Sandy 49-14
Wilsonville running back Ryan Walsh went over the 200-yard mark Friday night, powering the Wildcats to a 49-14 home win over Sandy.
Walsh's 65-yard run set up the first touchdown of the game, while a later touchdown run of 88 yards sealed the victory for the Wildcats.
Sandy kept it close in the first half, trading early touchdowns when QB Justin Adams hit Nick Yungeberg for a 23-yard score. A missed extra point was the difference as Sandy went into the locker room down 7-6.
The Wildcats were the NWOC runner-up last season, finishing second to eventual 5A state champ Sherwood.
