The Christmas Ships Parade, which includes 50 to 60 boats glittering with lights and displays, will dock at St. Helens this Saturday, Dec. 8, at 6 p.m.

A St. Helens Eagle Scout will be at the St. Helens City Docks to fit people for life jackets to wear on the docks for free as they watch the parade.

Local area recreational boaters donate time and money to put on a display of Christmas and holiday-themed boats. They parade from the Camas/Washougal area to St. Helens and Lake Oswego for 15 days during December.

Further information on the parade’s schedule can be viewed online, or for downloading a printable schedule, at

Any changes to the schedule due to severe weather or other circumstances will be posted on the Christmas Ships website.

Boaters interested in participating can visit the website to find information about joining the group. Those interested in donating to the parade can also find more information online. While owners of the ships spend their own time and money on their boats and displays, Christmas Ships, Inc., depends on donations from the public and businesses to maintain the website and insurance policies necessary to hold the parade event.
