Cards for Guards can help during the holidays

The West Linn community is asked to support the families of Oregon National Guard soldiers who are serving overseas during the Christmas season.

This can be done by sending gift cards to the Oregon National Guard. A gift card for any amount can be used to purchase groceries, toys or fuel.

Gen. Mike Caldwell, commander of the Oregon National Guard, will send the gift cards to the neediest Guard families around the state.

The cards can be sent to: Gen. Mike Caldwell, Oregon National Guard, P.O. Box 14350, Salem, OR 97309.

Cards for Guards is a program that lets citizens express gratitude and appreciation for those serving overseas. In many cases the families left behind must make great financial sacrifices.
