Cornelius recall in final week

So far, few ballots have been returned in election that could oust mayor and two councilors

Voters who'd like to weigh in on a recall election targeting Cornelius Mayor Neal Knight and two city councilors don't have much time to return their ballots.

So far, Washington County Elections officials have collected 357 ballots, a far cry from the 2,300-plus votes cast in the 2010 city election.

Voters have until Tuesday, Sept. 27 turn in ballots. Drops are at Cornelius City Hall, 1355 N Barlow St, Washington County Public Services, 155 N 1st Ave. and Washington County Elections.
