Bilingual display explains wind, wave and solar power

OMSI is opening a new permanent exhibit on renewable energy, focusing on wind, solar and wave energy sources.

The exhibit, which officially opens Jan. 17, shows visitors:

• how wind power works, using historic and modern methods.

• the geometry behind two commercial wind turbines

• how wave energy works

• the inner workings of a solar cell

• the manufacture of solar cells

• a simulated electric grid system

The bilingual exhibit is offered in English and Spanish.

Admission to the exhibit comes with museum admission. OMSI is located at 1945 S.E. Water Ave. in inner-east Portland.
