Mount Hood Salmon and Mushroom Festival
WHAT: Two of the Northwest's greatest bounties, salmon and wild mushrooms, are the honored celebrities at this festival. This two-day, family-oriented event features American Indian storytelling, original folk music, arts and crafts exhibits on salmon and wild mushrooms (including mushroom identification) and food. There are also salmon bakes and salmon habitat walks, a scarecrow-making contest and a Sasquatch Talk with speakers discussing the rich oral traditions of Northwest American Indians. Presented by the Cascade Geographic Society.
WHEN: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 1-2.
