5-year-old girl killed in crash

> A 5-year-old California girl died in an accident Saturday, on Highway 97 near Mile Post 58, when the vehicle she was in rolled off the snow and ice-covered road.
At 4:25 p.m., the 1993 Ford Aerostar van driven by Martin Renteria, 36, of Freedom, Calif., was traveling south when it went out of control and rolled at least once, partially ejecting the driver's daughter Celia Renteria. She was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Four other passengers, Sonia Garcia, 32, Aurelio Gutierrez Becerra, 37, Sandro Renteria, 8, and Gustavo Gutierrez, 8, were taken to Mountain View Hospital in Madras for treatment. All four were wearing seatbelts.
The accident, which occurred in Wasco County, is being investigated by Oregon State Police troopers from Madras and The Dalles. They were assisted at the scene by the Wasco County Sheriff's Office.
