   ART ADVENTURE HOSTS McCLARTY
   Art Adventure Gallery will hold an opening reception for Oregon artist Jack McClarty, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 7, at 185 SE 5th St., Madras. Refreshments will be served and music will be provided by Madras guitarist Nate Macy. For more information call the gallery at 475-7701.
   CINDERELLA OPERA AT METOLIUS
   The Metolius PTA will bring the Oregon Children's Opera "Cinderella" to the school for a 1 p.m. performance, Wednesday, Feb. 6.
   MAGAZINE FEATURES DONEY
   The work of local metal artist Ivan Doney was featured in the November issue of "Arizona Highways" magazine. Doney is currently researching grants which might allow him to create a life-sized bronze white buffalo for the town of Madras.
   TEENS INVITED TO SHARE TALENT
   The Jefferson County Library will host an Open Mic Night for teens willing to share their talent with others at 7 p.m., Feb. 7, in the library annex. Teens will be given up to 10 minutes each to take a turn on the stage to read a poem, sing a song, do a comedy routine, play a musical instrument, tap dance, or anything else they can think of. Coffee, tea, soft drinks and pastries will be provided free of charge.
   MADRAS ARTIST IN REDMOND SHOW
   Madras watercolorist Sharon Bean was one of 36 artists chosen to be part of the "At the River's Edge" juried exhibition at Roberts Field in Redmond Municipal Airport, which runs through May. 1. Artists are invited to submit entries for the next show "America the Beautiful" by May 2 and 3. Call 504-3497 for details.
   WIN A NEW PIANO
   A new Henry F. Miller piano, donated by Moe's Pianos in Portland and valued at $4,000, is the grand prize in Piano Santa Foundation's "Share The Music Challenge." To enter, any Oregon or Washington resident of any age may submit an original piano composition, creative writing or visual art piece expressing a musical theme, postmarked by April 15, 2002.
