>Boys and girls should have papers to bring to Feb. 23 or 28 gatherings
Players interested in Little League softball and baseball should gather their birth certificate and other paperwork.
Registration will be held Feb. 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Jefferson County Middle School, and Feb. 28, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. If unable to make it to one of those registration dates players can register with their parents at the Cascade Sports Authority store in the Palisades Shopping Center.
Fees are $30 a player for Tee-Ball, $35 per player for Rookie division and $40 a player in the Minor and Majors divisions. Tee-Ball is designed for pre-schoolers and first-graders with the respectively listed divisions each for older players than the previous division.
For teens in the Junior and Senior divisions of the Little League organization's structure the fee is $45 per player. The maximum charge per family for multiple children is $90. Anyone signing up after March 1 will be subject to a $5 penalty fee.
New players must provide a birth certificate or proof of birthdate but those with prior experience in Madras Little League will only need proof if notified.
The nationally-publicized fiasco over a naturalized New Yorker's birth date may result in proof of residency also being required.
