Fire destroys trailer

March 20, 2002 — A mobile home on NW Depot Road was destroyed and a neighboring mobile home damaged in a fire March 12, the cause of which is under investigation.
According to Fire Chief Earl Cordes, the mobile home at Tops Trailer Court was fully engulfed in flames when the fire crew arrived at 11:08 p.m., Tuesday night. The destroyed home, occupied by Ramona Lopez and two other adults, was valued at $5,000 and contents at $15,000. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Winds blowing flames into a neighboring mobile home also caused about $1,000 in damage to the second home. Neither home was insured.
Red Cross assisted the fire victims with food and clothing vouchers, and they were staying with relatives at the trailer court.
