Sandy racers thrive at home

CROSS COUNTRY- Boy's and girl's place three racers in top-10

Sandy Pioneers racer Isaac Mitchell (17:25.37) finished in fourth place in the men's race while Dalen Richardson (20:41.18) took second place on the women's side during Wednesday's 5,000 meters cross country meet at Sandy High School.

Ryan Byrd of St. Helens won the men's meet with a time of 16:19.72, while Kelsey Hilsenteger of Putnam won the women's race in 20:04.66

Running on their home course, Sandy was able to place three racers in the top-10 in both the men and women's meets.

'The group is exceeding my expectations, as far as where I thought we were going to be at, district-wise,' Pioneers' head coach Anouxa Vixathep said.
