Recycling, organic food, fast food discussed
The World Healing Institute hosts a free family-friendly event on how to make sustainability easy for your home and family.
The Fall Sustainability Festival is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 23, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the Unity Center on 20255 Willamette Drive in West Linn.
Recycling expert Jean Baumann will show how to reduce household garbage to only one bag a month. Jack Graves of Burgerville will explain how fast food can be healthy and ecofriendly. Bill Lakey of Organically Grown Co. will discuss organic vs. local produce issues.
Finally, Jim Newcomer of Transitions PDX will address the question 'Is sustainability enough?'
There also will be tours of the center's rain garden and children's activities.
