Snowshoe tour offered on weekends
Personnel from Deschutes National Forest and the Northwest Interpretive Association team to present snowshoe tours at Mount Bachelor each weekend.
"Snowshoe Eco-Tours" is a program which offered outings daily between Christmas and New Year's weekend but which now operates on weekends at the resort.
Outdoors enthusiasts can join a naturalist for an hour-long introduction to snowshoes plus the natural history of the Cascades. Tours start at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
The tours depart from the Forest Service shed near the ticket office in Mt. Bachelor's parking lot. Participants are served on a first-come basis since group size is usually limited. Groups with at least eight should call to make a reservation. More information is available at 541-383-4771.
