Campbell speaks at B&G Club dinner
- Madras Pioneer - News
The Madras Boys and Girls Club is planning its Fifth Annual Campaign for Kids Fundraising Dinner for 6 p.m., Monday, March 31, at the Jefferson County Senior Center in Madras.
Duncan Campbell, Chairman of the Board of The Campbell Group of Portland, will be the featured guest speaker. Campbell was one of the founding funders for the Boys and Girls Club program in Madras in 1997.
Many reasons have been cited for why the club is a great place for kids: It's for boys and girls, it's fun, and it's affordable at $10 per year.
The club has full-time professional staff serving as leaders and mentors, it provides a safe, positive environment, and club activities help young people build self-esteem, make appropriate decisions, resolve conflicts, nurture talents, broaden their experiences and become responsible.
The dinner is a fund-raising event that helps support the youth in the local club. It costs approximately $325 per year to help sponsor a child and pledges will be taken at the dinner.
