> Racing season is reving up. Dirt track racing this spring and summer at the Madras Speedway is offering spectators a number of choices when it starts in less than three weeks.
Two series have come to agreement with track operator Scott Arnold from Bend to hold events at the track.
Not only will there will be stops of the Northwest Street Stock tour at the third-mile dirt track -- off Clackamas Road northwest of the city's airport -- an added attraction of a special dirt-track series staged by Doug Walters from Albany is coming the to the track.
The new series of races at the Madras Speedway begins April 26, a week after an annual testing and practice day that is being held the day before Easter, on April 19.
Members of the dirt track special series will compete April 26.
