Madras resident Mary Evelyn Edgmon died April 6, 2003, at the age of 86.
Mrs. Edgmon was born Sept. 19, 1916, in Coquille, to parents William and Daisy Doyle. On July 7, 1935, she married Earl Edgmon in Coquille.
She was employed in retail sales for Kaufman Brothers. She enjoyed community activities, her home and family, and was a former member of Lady Elks and St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
Survivors include her son, Kenneth Edgmon of Madras; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers, and two sisters.
A memorial service was held April 11, at Bel-Air Colonial Funeral Home in Madras, which was in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions have been suggested to Mountain View Hospice in care of Mountain View Hospital.
Aletha Marie McInturff
Aletha Marie McInturff, formerly of Madras, died April 10. She was 91. The former Madras resident lived in Beaverton at the time of her death.
McInturff was born in Connell, Wash., on March 17, 1912 to Walter and Mary Moon. She married Joe McInturff in December of 1932 in Connell.
For years Aletha worked as a clerk at Rainbow Market near Warm Springs.
She was a member of the Lady Elks and enjoyed sewing, knitting, playing slot machines, hand work and crafts. She is survived by her son, Robert McInturff, of Lake Oswego, and Shirl Moon of Prosser, Wash. She also leaves three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceeded in death by her husband, five brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were at Bel-Air Colonial Funeral Home in Madras on Tuesday, April 15.
