Mazatlan reportedly buys old Hoffy's building

sp; April 16, 2003 — Mazatlan Restaurant is reportedly coming to Madras.
Individuals behind the restaurant chain have purchased the former Gramma Hoffy's Restaurant north of Madras, said Bill Hoffman, who built and owned the structure.
The small chain of Mexican-food restaurants is generally well respected. A recently opened Mazatlan in Redmond has been very busy.
Details on the restaurant and when it plans to open in Madras were not available at press time. It is expected they will do some remodeling to the existing structure.
Hoffman built the restaurant approximately 15 years ago, and the Hoffman family operated the business throughout the majority of those years. Other operators opened the restaurant as Granny's Kitchen for a short time but it has been vacant since the beginning of the year.
Hoffman was excited about the sale and the impending arrival of the new restaurant. "It's really going to be a good thing for Madras," he said.
