Ontario too much for Madras tennis boys

> Madras High first doubles team Bob Prince and Craig Weigand forced Ontario's Josh Christensen and Nick Babij to three sets in an April 22 boys tennis match at Burns.
But Babij and Christensen answered a 6-4 win Prince and Weigand had responded with after a 6-0 first set by closing out the first doubles match 6-1. It was part of what turned into a 5-0 win for Ontario.
Adam Behrends won two games for Madras against two-time state tournament participant Dustin Forsyth of Ontario but Forsyth won a first singles match 6-0, 6-2.
Playing in Madras's number two slot, Omer Goodson was beaten 0-6, 2-6 as well. Paxton Aarestad earned Ontario's win in that match.
A professional set format -- requiring eight games to win rather than the six-games for victory, best two set of three format -- decided the third singles match.
Tyler Adams of Madras won more games than either of the White Buffalos singles players but fizzled in his bid to beat Ryan Blankenbaker -- who won the match 8-5.
The second doubles match was won by Joe Armijo and Bret Haidle of Ontario, 6-2, 6-2, over Kerry Scott and Brandon Cox.
