Horseshoes part of town party

Saturday's Town Party for Madras is incorporating some varied sports events.
A horseshoe tournament is among the activities scheduled at the Town Party in Sahalee Park and across the street. Entry forms for two-player teams may still be available at Bi-Mart but the deadline to sign up was set as June 18.
Horseshoe pitchers will pay $15 per team to play in the event being sponsored by the Bank of the West. Defending champions are Jerry Broker and Jeff Broker of Madras.
The tournament is taking place across the street from the park, at a lot on the east side of 8th Street. Prizes of $100 for first, $60 for second and $30 for third are at stake if enough teams enter.
Details of a two-man golf tournament taking place Saturday and Sunday at the nine-hole Desert Peaks course owned by the city are included elsewhere in this issue.
