Boxing set for July 12 in Bend

Boxing fans who missed a recent event in Warm Springs have another chance to catch some of the state and the area's top amateur competitors.
Fast on the heels of a Treaty Days "Bound for Glory" event, the "Battle at the Black Horse Saloon" is taking place Saturday, July 12, in Bend.
The Central Oregon Boxing Club in Culver is presenting the card at the Black Horse Saloon, starting at 5 p.m. The saloon is at 20565 Brinson Blvd. in Bend.
Those approaching Bend from the north on Highway 97 will find veering toward downtown instead of the bypass most convenient. At Empire they can turn east. After going over the bypass on Empire there will be a four-way stop at Boyd Acres road. Fans can then proceed to the corner of Boyd Acres and Brinson.
Weigh ins will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. and physicals from 3 to 4 p.m. as a prelude to the 5 p.m. boxing.
Those needing more information or entry forms can contact Mark Evans of Central Oregon Boxing at 546-9654 or 546-9412 or via e-mail at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
