Men's softball concluding

Wrangler Construction and Hippie Joe's have proven the teams to catch in the summer's Jefferson County Mens Softball League play. The eight-team league played its next-to-last regular season games on Monday.
Wrangler Construction was unbeaten before losing to Hippie Joe's in a July 21 game but was only one game ahead of their nearest pursuers after that defeat.
The two teams appeared headed for a showdown for the top seed in the league's post-season tournament.
With two games each on Wednesday, July 30, remaining on their schedules, Hippie Joe's and Wrangler were the only teams with a chance at first or second in the draw and they were scheduled to play each other in one of those July 30 games.
A tournament has been scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 3, at the Juniper Hills Park complex where all the league games are played. There will be action starting at 8 or 9 a.m. League president Mitch Warren said he is aiming to complete the entire collection of winners' and losers' bracket games that will make up the tournament on that one day.
