To the Editor,
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Bill Bellamy in his victory and give a big thank you to the voters for such a wonderful turnout.
Running for the county commission was a growing experience for me and I encourage any minority to consider running for public office. I have a true belief that no candidate should run unopposed. Voters should have a choice when casting their vote, but it is up to us citizens to make that option available.
Moreover, when candidates have opponents, it keeps elected officials on their toes to ensure they properly represent all citizens, regardless of their nationality, religion, or residential location. Residents deserve to be treated equally and with respect.
Thanks again to our voters, and God bless our county.
