Tonight's talk on flood prevention

Madras and Jefferson County residents are invited to attend an informal Open House tonight, Wednesday, Nov. 17, at Madras City Hall for a presentation about flood mitigation efforts for Willow Creek.
The state of Oregon and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) have awarded a grant to the city to study ways in which flooding can be mitigated through downtown Madras, and help to spur downtown revitalization.
The informal open house will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., and will be followed by an open public Planning Commission work session, until 8:30 p.m. State and federal officials will be present to answer questions.
Madras City Hall Council Chambers are located at 71 S.E. D St. For more information, call Ken Pirie at Walker Macy, (503)425-1112.
