The Westside Elementary Student Council presented 6-year-old Brendon Moore of Culver with $150 last Thursday. The money was collected through a one-week schoolwide penny drive after the students learned about Brendon through the Sparrow Club. The Culver High School football team has "adopted" Brendon, who has terminal cancer, as its Sparrow child.
The boy's parents, Sandra and Steve Moore, said they will let Brendon decide what he wants to do with the money. "We pretty much let him have free rein. He gets to do whatever he wants to do with it," said his dad.
