Event highly successful for Boys & Girls Club

The Fourth Annual Evening Elegance, the primary local fundraiser for the Madras Branch of the Boys & Girls Club, enjoyed its most successful night to date.
The Saturday, Dec. 4 event at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds raised between $45,000 and $50,000 for the local club, noted Jodi Eagan, lead organizer of Evening Elegance.
The event included a silent auction and live auction, plus a prime rib dinner served by the Methodist Men organization. Auction items included several vacations, golf packages, Trail Blazer game packages, and art.
The funds raised go to support the Madras-based club. The club offers afterschool and summer programs for youth, and charges just $10 a year for membership. Actual costs for the professionally staffed operation are $325 per child per year.
