To the editor,
Since we are beginning a neew year, I thiught it might be apprpriate to update everyone on the Mountain View Hospital Auxiliary's activities. Proceeds from running the Thrift Store and Hospital Gift Shop enabled us to give for 14 $1,500 scholarships and almost $53,000 twards equipment for the hospital last year.
We have a "Blanket for Babies" project in which each newborn gets a blanket, booties and cap handmade by our members and other individuals. December babies are sent home in Christmas stockings, made by a member, and babies born on other holidays receive bibs. The Hospital Auxiliary also gave the New Year baby a basket of baby items, a $50 value. This wasn't listed in the paper with the othe rbusiness gifts given.
Other services provided by the auxiliary are the juice cart, help with Bingo, visiting and otherwise assisting the Living Center residents. We also furnish prizes for Bingo and gifts to residents. The residents are enjoying tray favors once a month made by Juniper Rebekah Lodge members, some also volunteer in the gift shop and Living center.
We would like to thank the community for their continued support of our endeavors. Volunteer help is always needed in Thrift Store and Living Center. If interested you can attend a luncheon meeting at the hospital on the third monday of the month at 11:30am or stop by either store, or call Mary 475-5711 for Thrift Store orJudy 475-3547 for hospital and gift shop.
