> David Huntington, a former resident of Madras, has been named chief of staff by State Representative John Dallum.
"My office is lucky to get David; his background and education are powerful assets for our district," said Rep. Dallum (House District 59). Huntington's duties will include office management, policy review, constituent services and research.
Huntington is a 1966 graduate of Madras High School, 1973 graduate Central Oregon Community College with an associate degree, and 1977 graduate of Oregon College of Education with a bachelor's degree in elementary education.
"I've lived nearly my entire life in Jefferson and Wasco counties" said Huntington. "I think I understand the culture, history and values of Central Oregon."
Huntington began working for Rep. Dallum June 2, after Dallum was sworn in as state representative.
"David was working as a consultant for my campaign and was a natural to hire on as someone to deal with the scheduling, correspondence and constituent work," stated Dallum.
Huntington's background includes four years in the U.S. Marine Corps two years as a public school teacher, 23 years as a manager in wood products manufacturing, and most recently principle of The Huntington Group, a consulting firm specializing in rural issues.
Huntington's honors include Outstanding Young Men of America, Chenowith Education Citizen of the Year, and The Dalles Businessman of the Year.
