Jefferson County Arts Association has received a $5,000 grant from the Robert W. Chandler Discretionary Subfund of the Oregon Community Foundation.
The funding will be used to equip the arts association with the technology needed to effectively reach out to the county's under-served audience, and to showcase the history and the arts in Jefferson County.
The technology will include computer hardware, software, Web page creation and training.
The mission of the Jefferson County Arts Association is to be a catalyst for artistic endeavors, thought, and education; to provide outreach for the underprivileged in the arts, to be a venue for exchange of ideas and self-expression, to act as a forum where all forms of art are fostered and creative and intellectual achievements are celebrated, noted association member Coralee Popp.
The Oregon Community Foundation, established in 1973, has managed charitable funds donated by individuals, families and businesses for 30 years to enhance the quality of life in their communities. Today, the foundation's endowment consists of over 1,000 funds with combined assets of over $50 million.
Individuals or businesses interested in establishing a fund may contact the Bend office at 15 S.W. Colorado, Suite 260, or call 382-1170.
