PORTLAND - The David Douglas boys soccer team struck twice in the second half Monday to save its season with a 2-0 win over Barlow.

After a scoreless first half, the Scots ramped up the pressure early in the second. Barlow defender Brad Bourgeois cleared a ball off the line in the 49th minute and left his feet moments later to stop another shot with his head, while Bruins goalie Sam Bridgnell scrambled back into position.

Two minutes later, David Douglas striker Victor Sanchez made a long run down the left side. Bridgnell hesitated for a moment, then came off his line to challenge. He closed about half the distance when Sanchez let loose with a hard shot that crashed into Bridgnell's face and went out of play...
