A 2000 Cadillac traveling the wrong way on Interstate 84 late Tuesday night collided head-on with another car, injuring two people.
Portland police said 81-year-old Beverly Jeanne Powers and 19-year-old Shelby A. Daun escaped serious injury in the accident that heavily damaged their vehicles.
The accident happened at about midnight when a white Cadillac four-door sedan driven by Powers entered I-84 from the Northeast 82nd Avenue off-ramp at Multnomah Street. The Cadillac was traveling west in the eastbound lanes with it collided head-on with a white 2003 four-door Ford Focus driven by Daun.
Police said Daun slammed on the brakes when she saw the approaching Cadillac going the wrong way on the highway. The Cadillac also braked, but the collision totaled both cars, according to police.
