Lakewood Theatre Company presents for a second season its Lost Treasures Collection, a series of rarely performed musical gems. This year, three musicals featuring movie themes will be presented in a concert/cabaret style. The first offering, 'Mack and Mable,' will be performed Oct. 21 and 22 on Lakewood's Side Door Stage.

The shows in the Lost Treasures Collection are presented script-in-hand, with minimal staging. No sets, no props, however food and beverages are available for purchase.

'Mack and Mabel' is based on an idea by Leonard Spigelglass, and features music and lyrics by Jerry Herman and book by Michael Stewart. The play is the tale of legendary director Mack Sennett and his greatest star, comedienne Mabel Normand, told in flashback with Mack (Ron Daum) as the narrator, reminiscing about the past, recalling his triumphs and his turbulent love affair with Mabel (Alina Ziak), whom he had discovered as a waitress and made a star.

The score includes 'Tap Your Troubles Away,' 'Time Heals Everything,' 'I Won't Send Roses,' 'Hundreds of Girls' and more.

The cast also includes Lisamarie Harrison as Lottie Ames, Seth Renne as Fatty Arbuckle, Norman Wilson as William Desmond Taylor and Thomas Slater as Frank.

The production is directed by John Oules and Matt Grossman is musical director. Alex Diaz is lighting designer.

All tickets are $18. The series of three musicals is available for a subscription package of $50. Call the box office at 503-635-3901 or order online at
