> As the local community rallies in support of the Tucker family, several groups are coordinating activities.
A savings account has been set up at Columbia River Bank in Madras in Tommy Tucker's name to help the family with any expenses that may occur, according to the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce.
A committee is organizing support for the family and questions about helping or volunteering with offers of food gift certificates, meals, etc., should be directed to Andee at 420-9984, Jan at 475-9466, or Kristy at 390-0761.
American flags were dispersed throughout Madras by the Lions Club Tuesday morning in honor of Pfc. Tom Tucker and in support of his family.
The chamber received a donation of 1,600 yards of yellow ribbon from June Creager of Batavia, Ohio, who said her community has a soldier who has been missing in Iraq for two years. The ribbon will be used to make yellow bows for all the downtown trees.
