Poet-Colvin wed at Coleman ranch
Sarah Jane Poet of Madras and Michael Irvin Colvin Jr. of Boring, Ore., were united in marriage June 3, at the Coleman Guest Ranch in Molalla, in a ceremony officiated by Chris Nolte.
The bride is the daughter of Terri and Richard Poet of Mulino, Ore., and the groom is the son of Michael and Mary Colvin of Boring.
Flower arrangements by Dianne Tate and 4-Cs Nursery decorated the site of the outdoor wedding. The bride wore a white strapless Mary's designer wedding gown with beaded bodice and a train. She carried a bridal bouquet of star gazer lilies and white roses.
Maid of Honor Joy DeHaan, friend of the bride, wore a strapless platinum and pink chiffon Alfred Angelo designer dress and carried a bouquet of pink and gray calla lilies.
Bridesmaids Christina Perez, friend of the bride, Amanda Poet, sister-in-law of the bride, and Melissa Walters, sister of the groom, wore dresses and carried flowers matching the maid of honor's.
The best man was Lance Schiedler, friend of the groom, and the ushers were Darren Kasper, friend of the groom, Jacob Poet, brother of the bride, and Mike Walters Jr., brother-in-law of the groom. The ring bearer was Hunter Poet and the flower girl was Sidney Poet, the nephew and niece of the bride. Music was provided by the Brian Hanson Band.
A reception was held at the ranch immediately following the ceremony. The wedding cake was created by Kim Munsey and Carol Winner. Jeana Fittinger and Shannon Hanson had charge of the guest book, and Elisha Poet, Monica Poet and Lori Wakefield had charge of the gift table.
The bride wore a black sundress with white print by Ann Taylor for her going away costume. The couple spent their honeymoon at the Embassy Suites Resort in Maui, Hawaii, and have returned to make their home in Madras.
Both the bride and groom are deputy state fire marshals. The bride graduated from Chemeketa Community College with a degree in fire suppression in 1996, and the groom graduated from Mount Hood Community College with a degree in civil engineering technology in 2004.
