> To the Editor,
While we voted against Measure 37, we recognize that there are land use issues that need to be resolved. The measure was poorly written and is open to various interpretations. Reasonable people can discuss and disagree about its intent and the degree to which it affects current policy.
We also believe that recall is for malfeasance, not because we disagree on an issue. Elections are inherantly "for" someone; recall is "against" someone.
We have enough trouble getting good people to get involved in public policy without adding the aggravation of recall.
We urge you not to sigh the recall petition and instead use the general election to express your opinion
