Begay, Shrine game on TV

Madras High lineman Blaine Begay will be playing football on television Saturday.
Begay is a member of the West team of the 54th annual Shrine All-Star Football Game. The all-star game pits the best graduating seniors from all divisions below 4A, whose graduated stars play in the Les Schwab Bowl.
The game, held in Baker, will be televised by Fox Sports TV. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
Begay was a standout lineman for the White Buffalos, and was a first-team all Tri-Valley League selection on both offense and defense. He is one of five Tri-Valley League players to make the squad, which also includes Luke Gilgan of Sherwood, Alan Noble of Estacada, Cameron Smith of Wilsonville and Serjio Villarreal of Gladstone.
The head coach of the West team is Bill Masei of North Bend, and assistants are Doug Ierardi of Regis and Skye Flannagan of North Powder. Greg Grant of Heppner is the head coach of the East squad.
Madras High graduate Stephanie Schlenker is the honorary queen of the West team.
