Fall sports meetings, grid camp set

> Fall sports are just around the corner, and Madras High is getting ready.
On Tuesday, Aug. 15, parents, players and coaches will gather for a fall sports meeting, which will be held in the high school commons beginning at 7 p.m.
On Thursday, Aug. 17, free athletic physicals will be provided. The physicals will be offered at the Indian Health Services office in Warm Springs starting at 4 p.m. In Madras, they will be provided beginning at 5:30 p.m., at the United Methodist Church on 12th Street.
Fall sports practices begin on Monday, Aug. 21.
The Madras Football Camp -- operated by head coach Dan Hiatt -- will take place Aug. 14-17 at the Madras High football stadium.
The camp will focus on teaching fundamentals of blocking, tackling, throwing and catching the football. Safety will be emphasized. Players will need to wear shorts, shirts, and either football shoes or tennis shoes. Parents are welcome to attend and watch.
Grades kindergarten through eighth will have the field from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and high school players will take over from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
The cost is $25, which covers a T-shirt, awards and refreshments.
Registration forms are available at the chamber and school district office. Registration is also accepted on the first day of the camp.
