Drifters Harvest Run this weekend

The 13th annual Drifters Car Club "Harvest Run" will be held on Aug. 18 and 19, with close to 200 vehicles on display, including ones from Jefferson County.
Featured will be classic and antique autos and hot rods, custom cars, motorcycles, large trucks and more. The show will be held in downtown Redmond at the plaza in the vicinity of Seventh and Greenwood streets.
The event will begin at 6 p.m., Friday, Aug. 18, and will feature a barbecue, "cruise in," rock and roll and "oldies" music by Duke Edwards, and dancing.
A cruise through downtown Redmond, beginning at approximately 8 p.m., will round out the evening.
The run continues at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 19, with a Show and Shine, Poker Walk spotlighting downtown merchants, music and dancing, kids' games, "Gravity Grand Prix," and a raffle with the opportunity to win fabulous prizes.
Spectator admission both days is free. There is a nominal fee to enter the car show.
The Drifters "Harvest Run" is a benefit for "Make A Wish" Foundation of Oregon, Hospice of Redmond, Sisters and Grant County and Sparrow Clubs. One hundred percent of the profits will be donated to these groups.
The Drifters Car Club encourages the preservation and promotion of classic and antique vehicles. It is a family club and invites participation by all who enjoy this hobby. You do not have to own a specialty vehicle to join.
