The 65th wedding anniversary of Culver residents Clarence and Wanda Van Orsow was celebrated last week by a trip to Winnemucca, where Clarence played in a cribbage tournament, and their children surprised them by joining them.
The Van Orsows were married Sept. 20, 1941, in Reno, Nev., and lived in Lone Pine, then Culver.
Clarence farmed and worked as a ditchrider for North Unit Irrigation District, while Wanda was busy raising seven children and also working at the Deschutes Valley Potato Company in Metolius.
The couple's children are: Char Steinbeck of Seneca, Ore., Bob Van Orsow and Denny Van Orsow of Madras, Angie Obrist of Tillamook, Bo Van Orsow and Geri Baker of Bend, and Jo Guiney of Culver. They have 22 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
