> Madras High School had a brief lockdown Monday, which was not a drill, Superintendent Guy Fisher told 509-J Board members at their Oct. 23, meeting.
"There was a lockdown at the high school today for a few minutes because of a distraught person on campus who was not supposed to be there," Fisher said, not giving any other details.
Teachers and students remained locked in their classrooms until officers arrived and arrested the person, he said, adding, "The lockdown went well, only this time it wasn't a drill."
Madras police assisted the sheriff's office and the police report said the incident happened at 8:48 a.m.
Sheriff's office information said a 20-year-old, Curtis Stacona of Warm Springs, was arrested on charges of criminal trespass and harassment.
