by: Submitted Photo - Two boys enjoy balloons at last years carnival in Metolius.

The public is invited to an evening of fun at the Metolius Family Carnival from 5:30 to 8 p.m., Friday, March 16, at Metolius Elementary.
Tickets are 25 cents each, or five for $1. Donate store-bought baked goods and receive five free tickets, or wear Metolius Elementary school shirts and receive two free tickets.
Events include a sponge toss with firemen as targets, bingo, face painting, a balloon artist, a jail, cake walk, fish pond, door prizes, silent auction, raffles, and more.
The food court will be serving hot dogs, drinks, ice cream and popcorn. (The Tucker family booth will not be at the carnival after all).
Specialty items from area businesses are featured at the silent auction. The gifts are arranged in baskets by different themes, including gardening, chocolate lovers, winter warm-up, fund in the sun, family fun night and BBQ.
