> Open enrollment for Willow Creek Community High closed March 1, with a total of 83 applications being received.
"We will still take applications but applicants must realize they are on a waiting list and would be considered for the second year enrollment," said project director Julie Lafayette.
She said the school did reach its targeted goals for enrollment, which was to have cultural representation of the district and to enroll students who could benefit from individualized and self-paced learning and through project-based learning.
A lottery drawing will determine who among the applicants will fill the school's 60 spots.
Lafayette said of those who completed enrollment applications: 20 were ninth graders, 63 were eighth graders, 29 were Hispanic, 24 were Native American, 29 were Anglo, and one was Black. There were 41 male and 42 female applicants.
