Tryna Muilenburg, Jefferson County director of the Commission on Children and Families, was presented with the 2007 Oregon Child Development Coalition Harvest of Hope Award on April 5, at a statewide celebration in Portland.
Each year, OCDC presents the Harvest of Hope award to an outstanding community member in recognition of their dedication, commitment, and leadership in the community.
"Tryna, as director of the CCF is an excellent example of how hard work can make a difference for children and families in our community. Through her role as director, she sits on 16 different committees that help address issues such as child abuse, child safety and drug abuse," said Jackie Brown, director of Jefferson County OCDC.
Muilenburg chairs the Jefferson County Early Childhood Committee as well as being on the city council for Metolius, where she lives and runs a bed and breakfast inn.
She is currently working with the Early Childhood Committee to plan events for the Week of the Young Child in April.
"Tryna continues to work towards making Jefferson County a great place to live and a community dedicated to children and families," Brown said.
