Eva Montee, Mountain View Hospital Wellness and Community Education coordinator, has announced her retirement according to Janet Morgan, director of talent.
Montee will conclude her 16-year career with MVH by the end of April.
"Mountain View Hospital has seen many exciting and dynamic changes during Eva's career. She has made tremendous contributions to Mountain View Hospital and our communities we serve," said Morgan.
As a tribute to Montee's passion for educating local communities on how to live a healthy lifestyle, a reception will be held in her honor on April 30, from 4 to 6 p.m., at Mountain View Hospital. The community is invited to attend.
Montee began her health career teaching fitness and mentoring over 35 years ago. Her contribution has earned her recognition including the 2004 National Aging and Adult Development Rosabel Koss Award for an outstanding meritorious service in the field of aging.
She earned the 2004 Soroptimist Distinguished Woman Award for Jefferson County, and was a top 10 finisher in the Northwest District.
She is also considered a participant for the "Leaders of Wellness Marching Team" from Warm Springs. This team marched in the Portland Rose Parade in 2002.
Montee holds an undergraduate degree in recreation from Washington State University. Active in many events, she enjoys volunteering to give back to the community whether it be through senior exercise training or simply encouraging a healthy lifestyle.
