Last clean-up weekend

Dump brush, yard debris and car tires for free during the Seventh Annual Communitywide Clean-Up April 28-29.
The event is cosponsored by Jefferson County Public Works and the Jefferson County Fire District No.1, and is held at the Jefferson County Transfer Station, 1760 S.E. McTaggart Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:40 p.m., both weekends.
As in the past, the transfer station will collect, free of charge, natural vegetation including limbs, brush and woody debris. They will also accept tires, but they are limited to 24 tires per load, and must be passenger size, with no rims.
This is a good time to spending a weekend cleaning up your yard to reduce the risk of wildfire.
For more information about the program and what is accepted, contact either public works at 475-1983, or the fire district at 475-7274.
