Madras AD job search on hold

Unless a special meeting is called, the hiring process for a new athletic director for Madras High is on hold for three weeks.
The embattled Jefferson 509-J board did not act on finding a replacement for retiring AD Margaret Sturza at Monday's meeting. The board's next regular meeting is Monday, May 14.
At the previous meeting (April 9), the board voted not to accept now-former superintendent Guy Fisher's recommendation to fill the position. The job would be both as an AD and part-time vice principal.
The board's plan, president Steve Earnest said on April 9, was to "reconsider the positions of assistant principal and AD" at the next meeting.
However, the board spent much of a four-hour session dealing with Fisher's resignation.
