Steppin' Out for Oct. 19

Watermedia paintings exhibit, sale

WHAT: Local professional artists in the Flow Artists' Critique Group will show and sell their watercolor, acrylic and monoprint paintings. The artists paint with water-based media in their own studios and meet weekly to evaluate and comment on paintings in progress. The goal for the artists is to help each other grow artistically.

WHEN: Friday, Oct. 21 through Saturday, Nov. 5. The artists' reception will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 21 with live music from jazz pianist Kyle Lewis.

WHERE: Allegri Gallery, 410 N. Main Ave.

Encyclopedia history night at Edgefield

WHAT: The topic this month is 'The Historic Columbia River Highway: A Study of its History, Decline and Preservation,' which will cover the story of the highway and outline its future.

WHEN: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25.
