CHS softball rolls to victories

After winning its Tri-League opener, the Culver softball team added a victory in the Central Oregon Spring Break tourney.
   The Bulldogs beat Santiam 16-4 in the league opener on Tuesday, March 18. Sarah O'Gorman earned the victory and helped herself by driving in three runs. Kayley Cook drove in two runs with a pair of singles while Kimber Wofford had two hits.
   Culver won the first of its two games in the spring break tourney Monday, beating Skyview (Idaho) 11-1. The Bulldogs were also scheduled to face Wilson of Portland on Tuesday, March 25 (played after press time).
   On Monday, Maria Ruiz hit a grand slam in the fourth inning. The Bulldogs led 6-1 before the big hit.
   O'Gorman earned the victory, allowing just one run and four hits.
   Culver returns to league action by traveling to Blanchet (in Salem) on Tuesday, April 1.
